Guidelines for Banks

From time to time the Bank of Botswana issues guidelines to the banks operating in the country to assist them in complying with their legal responsibilities. As such, they reflect the central bank's authority as set out in various sections of the Bank of Botswana Act (Cap 55:01). Their purpose is to provide guidance for the implementation of the provisions of various sections of the Banking Act (Cap 46:04). In turn this is supportive of financial stability as it helps instil public confidence that the banking sector is managed on prudent basis.
