Measures of Consumer Price Inflation in Botswana

The three measures of consumer price inflation current used in Botswana are:

CPI = 'headline' inflation using the Consumer Price Index (CPI)
CPIA = the measure of 'core inflation that excludes the impact of administered prices
CIPT = the 'trimmed mean' measure of 'core' inflation that excludes the impact of the most volatile pice movements
